ArborApril 07: New to Me

[07] Today’s prompt is New to Me
Draw a tree you’ve never seen before, identify it, learn and note down both the common and botanical names.
I was walking out on the Albany Bulb with the Albany Bulb Nature Journal Club and we stopped to admire the lit aspect of this pine tree, going all out on reproduction and growth. Closer looking revealed such a diversity of stages and phases of development! Including a series of mesmerizing globules of sap that glowed like crystal balls atop spent branchlets. The colors, the curls, the mathematics…all so stunning. Part of the club activity invited writing haiku. Spoiler: Fibonacci makes an appearance. If you’re in the East Bay of Nor Cal, go and meet this tree. It’s on the main central path on the Bulb 37° 53′ 23.01″ N / 122° 19′ 11.37″ W.
