ArborApril 24: Tell a Story

Visual story about a very tall tree and how it was watered for the first five years by a man named Joel.

[24] Today’s prompt is Tell a Story.
Draw a tree concentrating on visual storytelling. What else can you include in the tree’s setting that tells a story about that tree?

This is my favorite tree story. I’ve wanted to tell it visually for a long time, and I’m thankful this #ArborApril prompt motivated me to finally do it! It’s a testament to early care, to sustained compassionate attention*, and to love. If you’re ever in the East Bay of the San Francisco area, I encourage you to visit Joel’s bench and to admire the tree. What are you watering today?
<3 Thank you, Joel.

* Sustained compassionate attention is how John Muir Laws defines love.

Featured tree: Joel’s tree.
Sit on the bench and visit this tree.
