Project :: Mother’s Day Memories
Note: The 25 images take time to load. Now might be a good time to stand up and stretch.
In May 2012, I was at a meeting of a women’s’ organization and the program was on Mother’s Day. We went around the room and each of us shared a short memory of our mom (or of being a mom.) The stories were lovely, and I found myself taking little visual notes to remember them.
And then I couldn’t get the stories out of my head. So I created a more detailed visual for each story, wrote the jist of the narrative at the bottom and put them all in a printed poster.
The images here are the result of those stories. They were created using sharpie pens, a 40% warm grey studio marker, black ink & red watercolor, yellow pencil.
